A Dream Come True: The Wedding Edit

Let all that you do be done in love

I often dream vividly and write down my thoughts when I wake up.

Usually I'd think of dreams as something separate from reality. Visual and auditory creations that exist for a moment in time and then fade away.

I once dreamt that I deep fried a shark in my bathtub - yes you read that correctly - by turning up the thermostat in my NYC apartment.

Realistic? Not exactly.

But sometimes I'll have a dream so clear and vivid that it feels like a memory.

Recently, I had the healing experience of witnessing a particular dream I had more than a decade ago become one of my favorite real life memories. This dream was so vivid that I wrote about it in my journal and drew a quick sketch of the scenery back in 2014.

A large arch doorway in front of 8 very wide steps leading to a stone path

Admittedly, I did not know whose wedding it was at the time. However, there were strong signs that I was a bridesmaid:

100% MOH Energy

All those years ago I wrote ".... A giant house... Stone facade in the back. Beautiful landscaping... it was so big we used it as a wedding venue and reception hall... " - a pretty sounding picture for a leisurely ink pen sketch. Forgotten between hundreds of pages of musings, drawings, dreams and ideas... until this summer.

So as I watched my beautiful sister walk down the steps towards the aisle and realized I was seeing an old dream come to life, I was overwhelmed with feelings of wonder and gratitude.

The color palette, the sparkles, the joy... this wedding was a summertime celebration of love, life, and God's will! Olabisi & Rhondy, may God bless your union. Amen.

Love,
